Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news site has a TV personality as well as a writer and charitable donor. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The first graduate who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions with a critique of current political scenarios. In part, her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in 2010. In 2011 AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media company, which also included a number of existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with both her father and mother, it was their bond that shaped her. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. After the graduation ceremony, she worked as a journalist and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own books with his aid.
